Globally, electricity generated from nuclear has increased by 40% between 1190 ( 2,012,901 GWh ) and 2021 ( 2,808,115 GWh ).
However, it must be noted, it has failed to keep up with the growth in other forms of electricity generated globally. Its share in the global electricity mix has dropped from 17% in 1990 to 9.85% in 2021.
Electricity generated from nuclear has increased by 667% between 1990 ( 6,141 GWh ) and 2021 ( 47,112 GWh ).
Its share in the national electricity mix was remained relatively constant - moving only from 2.12% (1990) to 2.88% (2021), averaging about 2-3%.
This indicates that the growth in addition of new nuclear power nationally is at the moment, in sync with the increasing generation of electricity from all sources in the country.
