Jim Skea, Bio:
Jim Skea, a British academic, is the current chair of the seventh assessment cycle. Born in Scotland, Jim Skea studied Mathematical Physics at Edinburgh University and earned a PhD in energy research at Cambridge. He has held prominent roles in academia and policy, including at Sussex University, Carnegie-Mellon, and as Director of the Policy Studies Institute. Skea was honored with an OBE (2004) and CBE (2013) for contributions to sustainable transport and energy.
Education:
Born in Scotland, Jim Skea read Mathematical Physics at Edinburgh University, followed by a PhD in energy research at Cambridge University’s Cavendish Laboratory.
